Invisible danger

Dear internet,

Coronavirus is like living in a windy place. it is always present, beating you down, but invisible.

Or like living in a town with lots of loud trains that you get used to but not really.

Or like living in the flight path to the airport.

You should get used to it

and you do get used to it
To the point that you forget about it
but then you wonder:
Why do I feel so tired?
Why do my windows rattle?
Why is it roaring outside?

I think this is the real reason that the CDC recommends masks. Even if they are not medically-approved at all, it’s a tangible reminder that a virus lurks among us, that we shouldn’t let down our guard even if everything looks nice and springy outside.
